Uniquein the demossing of roofs
At Roof Revive we specialize in demossing roofs. Moss is a natural phenomenon and is due to poor air circulation in the roof construction. This deficiency forms the basis for the development of algae, mosses and lichens. Roofs in an environment with forests or trees, as well as roof sides that see too little sunlight, are extra sensitive to this.

PHASE 1: preparationMoss and algae also cause your roof tiles, roof panels or roof slates to become porous. Rainwater can penetrate into your roof through these small holes, resulting in moisture problems indoors. Moisture problems can lead to dirty spots on your wall, a musty smell and even harmful consequences for your health such as respiratory complaints, allergic reactions and respiratory infections.
-
PHASE 2: cleaningFor the effective cleaning phase, we always work with hot water instead of just high pressure. Depending on the type of pan and the degree of moss, an optimal pressure is set. The water is heated to at least 70°C. This gentle cleaning brings two important benefits. The first advantage is that no living moss organism survives at this temperature. The second advantage is that the hot water quickly loosens the moss. This offers the added benefit that your roof is protected from unnecessary high pressure. When using classic high pressure, the roof tile has a hard time because it causes scratches. Although these scratches are invisible to the naked eye, they do absolutely no good for the porosity of the roof.

Hydrofuge and roof coating as an option when removing moss from a roof
Want to make the roof covering extra moisture-resistant and frost-resistant? Then choose our option hydrofuge. This treatment places a protective layer on the roof tiles. This creates a pearl effect (see photo), which prevents water from penetrating the pans and slows down the growth of mosses and algae.
As mentioned above, two layers of coating can be applied to concrete tiles and slate roof tiles immediately after cleaning. This way the roof tiles regain their original color. In most cases, the manufacturer's original coating or paint is used. If desired, you can paint your roof tile in a different color. Good to know: our roof coating has a 10-year warranty.
